Electrical stimulation uses an electrical current to cause a single muscle group to contract. By placing electrodes on the skin in various locations, the electrical stimulation recruits the appropriate muscle fibers. Contracting the muscle fibers through this method helps to strengthen the affected muscle. Various settings enable the treatment to be specific for the severity of the condition, as well as to control for patient comfort. In addition, electrical muscle stimulation promotes blood supply to the area of treatment.
Intersegmental traction (IST) can be implemented to mobilize the spinal column while gently stretching ligaments and muscles and promoting the health of intervertebral discs. IST also helps to increase essential fluids for intervertebral discs, increases blood flow and oxygen to ligaments and muscles, ultimately allowing for improvement of balance, strength and mobility.
At our location, we may feel that it is clinically indicated to perform x-ray services if you are a new patient or if you have a new complaint. We take x-rays to reveal the internal structure and to examine the alignment of the spine. When reading an x-ray, we are concerned about potential underlying disease processes and disorders such as degenerative disc disease, arthritis, abnormal development, bone spurs, tumors and spinal curvature.

"We want to support as many people as possible in their quest for health and to educate them about chiropractic so they may in turn educate others." -Dr. Steven Peterson
Dr. Steven Peterson is a graduate of the Palmer College of Chiropractic, where he attended over 4800 hours of classroom instruction. Dr. Steve has successfully passed four rigorous national board examinations as well as the Pennsylvania licensing exam. In addition, he also attends continuing education seminars each year. Dr. Steve received his Bachelor of Science degree from California University and received a scholarship to complete his studies. Dr. Steve was also a 4-year varsity letterman for his performance on the baseball diamond, earning All-Conference honors. Despite having the opportunity to participate in a contractual opportunity to play baseball, Dr. Steve elected to further his education due to his strong desire to help the suffering through chiropractic. Shortly following graduation from California University, he was accepted into the Doctor of Chiropractic program at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. While at Palmer, he was trained in six different chiropractic techniques. Due to this diversity, he is able to specifically tailor his treatment approach to each individual patient. Dr. Steve also completed various elective courses focusing on chiropractic diagnosis and patient care.
Because I honor the inborn potential of everyone to be truly healthy
Because I desire to help the newborn, the aged, and those without hope
Because I choose to care for the patient with the disease, not the disease
Because I wish to assist rather than intrude; to free rather than control
Because I seek to correct the cause, not it's effect
Because I know doctors do not heal, only the body can heal itself
Because I have been called to serve others
Because I want to make a difference
Because everyday I witness miracles
Because it is right
